If you like comedy, action and a little bit of fantasy in your movies, then Hindi entertainment movies with a big entertainment value are for you.
In India, people like to watch comedy, drama, horror films, super heroes and even some martial arts movies. Some of them are quite good and have a cult following in India. But most of the Hindi films are not very good and there is a difference between Indian and foreign films.
An abrasive anti-hero ( GREGG TURNER) hits the open road to do a series of daring shows at underground nightclubs. This is the main theme of Hindi entertainment movie “Chak De! India” (airs Monday nights). The lead role was played by Ajit Bedi who made headlines around the world.
This film was a box office hit in India and it swept the board with its cinematography, music, stunts and action sequences.
The second comedy film in the Hindi language that won a best comedy award was “Aab ka Fakhra” (Enough For Everyone). This movie stars Ajit, Manoj, Baba and Aishwarya Rai.
It’s a romantic comedy and tells the story of a family as they grow up. The lead role was played by Aishwarya Rai who went on to become one of India’s leading actresses.
The film didn’t really receive the kind of audience response that one would expect from an entertainment movie but it did well in the international film festivals.
Another great comedy film that stars Ajith Kumar and Madhubala has been called “Man On The Moon”. It’s directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and loosely based on the book of the same name.
It’s a futuristic love story in which the main character becomes a human and travels to the moon. This movie had a better reception in the international film festivals as it was screened in more than one country.
It later became a hit in India thanks to Anushka Shetty and Priyadarshan Sahoo.
An expectedly good comedy movie is ” Chennai Express”. This movie stars shahrukh khan, Madhubala, Manjishtha, Sonu Nigam and Kavita. The movie is about a group of students going to Chennai to attend a concert by a local band. They end up getting separated from their group and are stranded on the streets.
A female cop rescues them and they go back home to find that there was an alien creature chasing them.
An otherwise good entertainment movie reviewed is “The Informant”. This movie stars Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Gita Sharmin, Manish Malhotra and Neha Mandeshkar.
The movie is about a young woman working at a brokerage firm where she is recruited by an agency to obtain information about a missing woman. She soon finds out that she has been sent to Chennai to obtain this information.
A Mumbai movie reviewer notes that, “Mobile Suit Zindh Verma is a decent Indian sci-fi epic.” Starring Ajith Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Manish Malhotra and Neha Mandeshkar, this entertainment movie has some great fight sequences and a few explosions.
It also has some hilarious comedy sequences and timely and intelligent dialogues. The dialogues in this movie are a lot like those of an intelligent book that someone reads to get lost in a fantastic world.
An otherwise decent entertainment movie review notes that, ” Everest is a visually breathtaking and awe inspiring action-thriller directed by Tom Ho.” Starring Ajit Maheshwari, Kullu Hema, Manjishtha, Naveen Kaushik and Madhubala, the movie managed to bring me into the thick of action scenes.
I could not stop smiling while watching it. Also, explosions, vehicular chases, martial arts, terrorism and intense fighting were other key features in this budget action-thriller. Directed by Shimit Amin, this entertainment movie is worth a watch.
